OK...I'll bite! I would love to win this book! But also ... on the shop talk podcast it was mentioned that much of the expert knowledge couldn't be captured even in the detailed articles in FWW. Does this book contain some of that lost expert knowledge?

I can always use another book.

Looks like a good way to get into curved work.
Looks like another outstanding FWW publication.
I have never made a chair from scratch, only repaired them. Perhaps this book would inspire me to attempt something new.
An interesting looking book. I am sure that I would benefit from this book if I win.
Always looking for and like to learn new techniques to perfect my woodworking. I like new and old techniques that take my skill to a new level. That is part what makes woodworking fun, learning something new or relearning something that works for me.
Thanks for the opportunity and I HOPE YOU CHOOSE ME! :)
this sure looks like a good book and guessing that every woodworker could use.
If I'm not blessed with winning it I wish the best to whom ever receives it.
Happy WoodWorking.
Tim
Would love to try my hand at making some beautiful chairs.
I sure could use this book. Maybe I will get lucky!!
I'd love to have some examples of new projects to try on the road to improving my skill level. This book looks like a great next step!
On a semi-fixed income being eaten up by rising costs, building a table and chair set to match a china cabinet for my grand daughter would be an everlasting accomplishment. I have a host of neat one-of-a-kind tios this engineer would love to share with fellow woodworkers. If I don't win, maybe we can barter!
I've been tasked with building a new dining table for my parents, something I've never done before. This book would really come in handy!
With an above the shoot storage filled to overflowing with chairs that need repair, your post spurred be to begin work on them. I am always buying broken chairs at the local Restore (Habitat for Humanity) and love the varieties of style available as "junk". It seems that straps, clamps, and glue are only a part of the picture, the reason I'v not found time to begin restoration.
The Quintessential Workshop piece heightened my interest in restoration once again. Thank you.

If anything like other FWW books this will likely add to my skill set in a relatively painless manner while sparing my mistake/firewood pile from growing.
Just need to win now. How hard can it be?

Have my finger crossed.

Living in a country where literature on woodworking is so scarce this book would be a blessing
Always was fascinated by projects to make chairs and functional tables, but was intimidated by the project looking at the books. Will this book llay my anxiety and apprehension? Only time will tell. - Sushruta1
Creating chairs is a challenge I would love to learn and master...hopefully this book will help me :)
I notice Michael Fortune's picture on the front cover. Having a master craftsman like this man provide instructions and advice that you can go back to, over and over, is worthy of a space on any bookshelf.
Looks like a great addition
Mede a table a little time ago. Would like to make some chairs, too!
Looks like a fine book.
I just watched the first 2episodes of Michael Fortune's bent lamination Adirondack chair video series with my 12 year old son. It would be fun to try out a project from this book!
This would make an excellent addition to my reference library!
One must always be careful when making chairs. People see that you have that skill and bring you their late 20th century Walmart chair for repairs. I ended up with four chairs in my shop before I could put up barbed wire. One was fun, it was a mid-century chair, and repairing it involved turning new spindles, carving the arm and matching the finish. The other ones were originally assembled with drywall screws. Sheesh.
Can't wait to see this book and build more skills!
Help me I'm still sitting on stumps
looks like a great resource
Please enter me. Looks like a great book.
If that's Michael Fortune on the cover, it has to be great!
Looks like a great book - can't wait for the drawing!
As a custom plywood manufacturer I've been making tops for furniture makers for over a decade it would be nice to learn how to build the rest of the table ourselves and sell some finished products. My staff have made some simple tables but nothing that would match the tops we make.
I've been making furniture on and off for most of my 50+ years and am always looking for new designs and inspirational reading. I would love to get a copy of this book!!
another fun contest! thanks Fine Woodworking, hope I win!
Always looking for new interesting challenges. Chair making would make an interesting diversion from making boxes.
Count me in, looks like a great book
Building a chair can be the most challenging and rewarding project for a woodworker. It certainly should be on everyone's bucket project list. For many of us, looking at that first chair might want to make you chuck it in the fireplace, as your eyes gravitate to small errors in rake and splay, spacing of spindles etc. This is all part of the learning curve and once you've completed about a dozen, you have earned the right to call yourself a chair maker!
I plan to build tables and chairs soon so I'm sure this book would be a big help.
Going to start making some tables. would be a nice reference/idea book
this book would be a good addition to my library.
It might give me the confidence to try a set of dining room chairs I need.
Steve
I could always use additional ideas and tips on furniture making. I expect this book to be a good source for that.
You can never have too many books.
One off the first projects that I made at school was a chair. And I must admit it was quite challenging. I feel that this book would give great tips and advice. Having Michael Fortune in the book would be fantastic.
All I want to do is make a simple wooden stool...
I have been wanting to build the Hayrake table ever since I read the article in FWW. This book should help with this. Enter me, thanks.
I'd love to win is book!!!!
Could this be tabled as chairity....
a chair is on my short list of next projects
I am ready to build a chair, or chairs? I have only built one piece made to sit on, a hall bench. It presented many challenges and opportunities to learn.
Hopefully the book will have pictures of every project near the front of the book so that it can be easily scanned for what would interest the reader. Many books lack this feature making them more difficult to determine if anything of interest is in the book.
I have seen the work of Michael Fortune in Toronto and I would love to win this book and find out about building a chair using his techniques an drawings.
I would like to through my hat in the ring please.
Looks promising
Looking forward to making my first table.
I have done a coffee table. But fell a little intmedated by chairs
My hat is in the ring too.
This would be great!!

I am retiring in about a month. This book will come in handy to select my 1st retirement project. I could use this book.
Just giving it a shot! Thanks!
I would love to work on some dining chairs that are built to last. Hopefully this book would give me some great ideas for how to do that.
I don't worry about winning the book. I've read the book description in the Tauton bookstore and it would appear that this is a collection of articles from past issues of Fine Woodworking. Additionally, one can browse the Fine Woodworking archives or go to the videos and even download the plans for a project if one fancies a try at building one of these pieces. I saved all my old issues starting 20 years back and I scan the old copies when I am looking for a new project. Rereading the old mags is a keen way to freshen up tricks and tips, as well.
I make Windsor chairs so this would be a nice addition to my addiction.
Thanks for the offer!
I always enjoy Michael Fortunes articles and projects. Would love to add this book to my library.
A nice resource to have.
Thank you.
I always enjoy a FWW resource!
Wow...this book looks to have great plans and ideas
Can't wait to make my first corner chair.
I hope I win, because I need all the help I can get!
Well I'm not even close to chair construction status yet, but would love the book. I do seem to be gravitating towards table building.
I made an account just for this. :)
Hi
This book would give me inspirations for the table and chairs project I have planned for in the near future.
You know having woodworking books is like having tools..... You never can have to many.... :-)
Thank you for a chance to win and review this fine looking book
Not that I've ever won anything in my life, I still would like to give this a try. I have NEVER seen a Taunton book that was not worth it's weight in gold!
Mike
I have several chair projects in the queue and could use more hints on how to make them successful.
I would like to be included in chance to win the book.
I have not built chairs but would enjoy the opportunity to try.
Great projects to build. I'm an admirer of both Limbert furniture and just about everything Michael Fortune builds!
