Adrian Potter’s Little Ship on Wooden Waves
The cabinet featured on the back coverof the current issue of Fine Woodworking, made by Australian furniture maker Adrian Potter, includes a miniature wooden three-master on a simulated ocean. The little ship, modeled after the one sailed by explorer Capt. James Cooke when he claimed Australia for England, rides up and down on a sea of wooden slats when you turn a crank on the side of the cabinet. This video shows the ship in motion.
