I’ve owned several Craftsman butt chisels that would hardly hold an edge, so I was pleased to find that the steel in this chisel has been improved. The handle is, to put it nicely, awkward. Almost 2 in. longer than the blade, the thick, black plastic handle has a circumference of more than 4 in. The tool scored an “average” on the toughness test. The price is for a set of five chisels.

I do not know how to say it. These are junk. They were a gift from a well meaning friend. They would not hold an edge. The steel is too soft, the finish is so poor, and the backs were so warped that I never could get them flat.I had some old Craftsman Butt Chisels from the 1960's and they would hold an edge. These new ones I just threw away.
