The new Bosch laminate trimmer is a beautifully designed tool. This router is not just for laminate work. I think that the tool’s light weight, adjustability, and ergonomics will make it the new standard in small routers for both furniture and cabinetmaking. The motor is wrapped in a rubber collar for a positive, comfortable grip. Height adjustment is excellent. The variable-speed motor has a soft start and is relatively quiet. Changing bits is easy once you get used to the sequence that releases the base from the housing. The model I tested (PR20EVSNK) includes the variable-speed trimmer and the additional bases for $200. You can buy just the trimmer with a fixed base (PR20EVSK) for $120, or a single-speed version (PR10E) for $99.

Just wanted to add a comment. I read some reviews that complained about the shaft lock button not working and after consulting Bosch they recommended using a thin 10mm wrench to hold the shaft instead. The reviewer had to buy a wrench and modify it to fit. My recently purchased kit (with variable speed and edge guide) came with a thin 10mm wrench and not just a stamped steel wrench either.

Everything is JUST RIGHT- size, power & features. The pluses far outweigh the minuses. Buy it!

More than enough power for any average size job. Handy size and very comfortable to hold. Two complaints: First, Shaft Lock is hard to engage. I always have to remove the motor from the body to be able to get good pressure on it to make it engage and not slip out of it's engagement slot. Second complaint, which is easier to overcome: Make sure the motor is in the locked position (marked on the base), otherwise your motor will spin itself deeper and mess up your inset routing.

This router has been great for those one handed tasks (chamfer and edge down an assembled piece, running a top bearing bit to edge trim back a molding on a cabinet, etc.) It has more power than I expected and am quite pleased. I am still getting used to the 'lock' height position versus the adjustable position. Overall, glad I purchased it.

This tool has been pretty much what I expected when I bought it. It has more power than I expected and works well in its niche. The collet lock can be finicky but is functional. It is much easier to grab and use when I don't need the power of a full size router.

For me, this tool has been worthless...After making adjustments (As per the manual), the motor moves in the base when I turn the power on ("Moves" ie an inch or more if the power is allowed to run)...
