This Arts and Crafts-inspired overmantel is made from white oak and plywood. Its aged appearance is done with the use of glazing stain that is topped with either shellac or wax. See article in FW#130, pp. 71-75.
Clark made this display cabinet from a variety of hardwoods featuring kwila. The center front and side windows were carved from a multillayered cross-bonded piece of European pear. The cabinet is finished with shellac and wax.
