Woodworker: Michael Murphy
This Sam Maloof-esque bar table (32 in. dia. by 40 in. tall) was constructed to allow a set of matching barstools to fit under it. Murphy’s table has a book-matched black walnut top and ebony plugs. The finish is poly oil. The Sonoma County Woodworkers Association recently hosted its 34th annual Artistry in Wood show at the Sonoma County Museum in Santa Rosa, Calif. Thirty-one woodworkers from all over California brought 57 entries including furniture, turnings, art pieces, and instruments to the monthlong, juried exhibition, visited by more than 3,000 patrons.
