English Style Workbench
I’ve been putting up with my old workbench for years now so I decided enough was enough and that it was time I built a proper bench. I went trhrough lots of different designs form many sources – I even tried desiging my own from scratch. Then I saw the Paul Sellers workbench build on You Tube and I knew I’d found my new bench. Whereas most of the designs I found seem to have abandoned the apron and try to use the full wide of the bench front a a rear vise jaw, this design is a bit different. I’m more and more avoiding machinery in my workshop so this is definitely biased towards hand tools. It’s 39″ high, 6 feet long and 3 feet deep. All that’s holding it together are one coach bolt and one hardwood wedge on each leg. It’s absolutely rock solid and it only cost me about £100 ($160) to build. I did already have the vise though.
