Wood: Figured maple, Santos Rosewood and Wenge with Pine being the secondary wood, with an inlay of Ebony and Holly.
Dimensions: 14-1/2" deep x 31" wide x 29-1/2" high
This is a design that I have been knocking around in my head for a while, it went through several revisions until I put it to paper.I wanted the top to pop, for that I chose heavy figured maple along with the body of the case, the drawer fronts are dovetailed in solid cherry, and veneered in Santos Rosewood and Santos Rosewood is also used for the panel on the doors, with knife hinges. The accent wood is Wenge, it wraps the drawers and protrudes 1/8 of an inch to brake the plane of the front, wenge was also used to highlight the door panels and the I turned the knobs out of Wenge. The table is wrapped on all 4 sides in ebony and holly inlay. The finish is lacquer and it was rubbed out.
This piece won second place in the 2014 Florida State Fair furniture completion.
The ebony and holly inlay wraps all around the piece.
The finish is brushed lacquer that was rubbed out after it cured.
