OK, so I know I’m not the only one to be inspired by Jeff Guthrie’s lovely design (item 9815 in this gallery). Mine has Madrone (arbutus, if you are in Canada) and quilted maple veneers with walnut solids.
The hinges (last photo) are from Lee Valley and are designed for a butler’s tray. They allow the top to be centered on the box and still clear the legs when the box is open.
Dimensions of the top are 20″ x 12″
