I was given this rosewood veneer last year. A generous gift from a kind stranger. I made a small box as a gift recently and that led to this. The base is textured and painted poplar. The top is actually a shallow box. I’ve been making variations on that handle for years. The “crown”, lis and handle are all box elder.

This is the 1st time I have built a spec cabinet. I did it because I had the time and all the material except the hinging. ($35.00) and this Vision. I have a vague plan to use it as a marketing tool, and there are a couple of shows here in St. Louis that I can enter it in. The black textured/carved boxes are the only boxes I've offered for sale. They go for $160-$250. I don't spend much time on the inside, usually just enough to get a small storage space that allows me to call it a box. Most of those boxes on the site were made because I can't stop myself..lol most are given as gifts, but I have a sizable collection around the house.
Nice work! I checked out your website as well. What price range do you get for your boxes? I do custom cabinets and furniture but rarely made speculative pieces for fear of not being able to sell them for enough to cover my time and materials.
The cabinet 63"x 19.5"x 9.75". The inside is cherry.
