This design doubles the space I currently have. The door is in the same place as my shop so I load wood straight down the stairs. The windows are a lot wider than my windows, I would like as much natural light as I can get in this design. I build furniture in my shop so in this new design I can move dry wood across the shop from the rack to dimensioning with the jointer and planer then the table saw or the band saw then to finishing on the workbench close to the window. In my current shop, everything is on wheels and must be positioned around the workbench. This new design is very much a one-man shop which I like. Keeping it small allows me to be more connected to my surroundings and therefore connected to the work I do. This new design would make it easy for me to have my 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 year old working on their projects while I work.
