steam-punk clock. Made from cherry, ebonized walnut, copper, and brass
This piece was commissioned for UNIX founder Doug Mcllroy, to be present to him at the 2009 Linux festival in Columbus, OH. I designed the casing of the clock and executed the woodworking. The materials are cherry, ebonized walnut, brass, and copper. My sister and brother-in-law did all of the copper and brass plate etchings. There are no hands on the clock, but rather, the faces revolve to keep time.
