Re: Getting started in woodworking series project
It looks great. Thanks for posting the pics! I like the additional edging around the top and the top coat (with the possibility of water damaging the MDF).
posted: 8:37 am on August 18thI think I'm going to try the edging as well on mine, attaching it with pocket screws, the best way I can think of with what I've got. Not sure how I'd do it otherwise: without a biscuit joiner, and thinking dowels would be an exercise in madness.
How did you apply the top coat. Did it dry up for a smooth surface (as opposed to brush stroke marks, etc.)
Thanks for any feedback, and once again... Looks great!
Re: Narrow Wall Cabinet
I like this piece! Not familiar with chechen though - is that used for both the carcase and the door - perhaps looks a bit different thru finishing or board selection? Am I right in seeing that the cabinet arches to the left as it rises up? If so, I like that as well.

It's great the way you've setup/converted the two-car garage. Great use of tools, mobility and space! I'm actually aspiring to set up shop in my own two-car garage, but some accommodations will definitely have to be made for my better half as the debate continues! I see a lot of ideas and elements that I can see myself "borrowing" for my own uses.
posted: 2:20 am on April 9thI wanted to ask you about your bandsaw, because of the comments you made about your own. I've been trying to do some homework, looking for a 14" model, with a riser block for the additional height, that will also be able to handle some resawing well enough. I've been looking at some Grizzly's myself and, I'm hoping you could tell me a little more about yours and it's setup - model, pros and cons, resaw sawblade tips...? Also, is the jointer I see in you shop a 6" model, or possibly an 8" model?
Thanks for the shop tour, and I look forward to further developments!
