Re: Who Is A Hand Tool Woodworker?
Empires you are so right,I had a classic apprenticeship 5yrs then stopped fine woodworking to make much needed money in mass production, now I am 57 and realise I made the biggest mistake of my life,I am now trying to pick up where I left off and man its the hardest thing I have ever done, sure I am rusty but I will get there,I repeat this over and over, who knows maybe one day?Im not moaning, but like you say I wish I knew then what I know now

this is another example of pure greed, from the injured, the ambulance chasers(sorry lawers)and the manufacturers, with the sums involved is it any wonder people pursue a claim, all this will do is increase insurance premiums and table saw prices,to the guys who commented blaming the american litigious society, youre not on your own in britain things are just as bad with people chasing a free buck(pound).Health and safety has gone mad over here with jobsworths telling you what you can and cant do,some schools dont have sports anymore because its too traumatic for children to lose sorry about the rant but it really does beggar belief PETER

good idea but to take it further i would suggest a strut from the shelf to the column with another collar preferably in metal with a wing nut to loosen and tighten
