Re: Is the Radial Arm Saw on its Last Legs?

I own a restored 14" Delta. The 70's motor blew out and Delta does not sell Single phase motors for this saw. I replaced it with a vintage Rockwell Motor and all is well.

I think this is a great tool for cutting long boards and most cross cutting tasks. It also is great for dadoeing tasks. I cut a plastic garbage can and placed it behind the yoke and attached to my dust collector and it picks up 95% of the dust. I use it almost as much or more than my table saw. Its part of my top 4. Radial Saw, Table saw, band saw and Drill press.

Re: Making the King's Furniture

While my woodworking skills are somewhat primitive, I appreciate the dedication and sacrifice that Aaron made to create such wonderful expressions of his talent. I am often at a loss for words when trying to inspire my son who is a classical music composer in a world that is loosing sight of the classics.

This level of craftsmanship is an inspiration to all who strive for greatness. My sincere compliments.

Re: Furniture Maker's Shop Destroyed by Fire

I think Fine woodworking's heading of Tragic may be over the top. I do feel sorry for the loss of your shop and efforts.

I commend you for your positive attitude. "“I’m not down, I’m not distraught,” he said. “I look at it as another chance to do things better.” That is the way all setbacks need to be viewed.
