Retired shipbuilding materials/acoustic engineer; past committee chairman of American society for Testing Materials,ASTM,; Past Grand Knight Knight's of Columbus council 4654 Vienna, Va. Hobbies are woodworking, woodcarving, gardening and refinishing furniture.WW projects began in 1968 with a shaker table Cherry, a Cherry cradle designed and built by me 1970,several tables, cabinets, lots of birdhouses and garden stuff,lately have built a kitchen dining breakfast set from a salvaged church pew. Have built a queen size bed from native walnut lumber, my best piece. Lots of other stuff planned. I have spent a lot of time furnishing a detatched two car garage complete with a dust collection system of my design, shop is heated and air conditioned complete with cable TV and a bathroom. I am a happy guy.

Mark, News of your misfortune sent a chill thru my portly body since fire in the shop is what I fear the most in my garage refuge named "Paradise". I really do enjoy my shop and furniture repair place. sorry to hear of your loss and hope that you can rebuild a better place with more advanced equipment; the more we work with our stuff the more we see stuff we would like to replace or upgrade to, this your chance, good luck.
