This is the second piece of furniture I've ever built. The first I fully desgin on my own. The table is made of solid maple with the exception of the table top which is maple plywood...

Re: First Table Ever Made
Hey cblouin,
posted: 12:23 pm on July 13thI didn't consider cutting the depth for several reasons. The biggest being that I wanted to store alot of electronics (ie: PS3, Nintendo Wii, router, modem...) so that they're out of sight. Secondly, my 1 year old son loves walking around trying to touch everything. With a table this deep, I am able to set the TV back far enough to prevent him from touching the screen and leaving marks.
Cheers

Wow. I can't believe tax payers are actually paying a judge to make ridiculous decisions like this.

What ever happened to personal accountability?

That Lie-Nielsen plane would be nice. My Footprint plane from Home Depot just isn't cutting it. That Leigh dovetail jig would be pretty sweet too. I made my first ever dovetail joint this weekend and have to say I have a new found respect for the guys out there doing them by hand.
