I laugh when I read comments saying you can't rip with a RAS, to those people I say read the book on set up, I routinely rip sixteen foot 2x lumber in complete safty.

Table saws is less convinent and a lot more of a hasard because the blade is mostly in the wood, a RAS the blade is up front and personal, not sneaky.
My table saw does make a good storage table.
