Re: Tablesaw Safety Goes Under the Microscope--Again

keep us informed as to who to address on this matter.

there are simple things to do first.

ENGAGE BRAIN...

In a multi person shop, have the table saw isolated even just by partitions so one is not distracted while operating the saw.

do not operate any machinary when tired. Remember it will take much more time to heal and finish the project, than to rest and finish the project.

Add an feather board to the fence as well the magnetic feather boards for the table.

PUSH STICKS.

Re: Share your finishing disasters for a chance to win a finishing DVD

Be sure to use fresh and dewaxed shellac... what a mess in the humidity. It was tacky forever, would never dry. Sanding just added grit to the tacky finish. I had to strip it with mineral spirits and then sand it again.

Now I use dewaxed shellac flakes, so it is mixed fresh. And use a portable air conditioner in the finishing area to have these coats dry correctly.

Re: Bench Cookie Giveaway

Re: Book Giveaway: Furniture Restoration - Step-by-Step Tips and Techniques for Professional Results

My wife and I have a house of antiques. We traded a perfectly good 50 year old maple bedroom set for a 125 year old mahogney one...
I have some that have been in the family for over 200 years and need a touch up but have been waiting to get the knowledge to do it without messing them up.
