Re: Is the Radial Arm Saw on its Last Legs?
The radial arm saw always was a dodo. It is fundamentally unsafe in concept. My top-end De-Walt also constantly goes out of alignment. In my shop it is used only for rough cross-cut docking of long lengths. I would never use it for ripping, as it once nearly injured me badly. As a docking saw I would replace it today with one of the sliding compound mitre saws and do everything else on the table saw or band saw. Good riddance to a dinosaur
