Re: Surprise landing: Stanley's new Sweetheart chisels have arrived
Not trying to be political, just observing that MOST americans are shopping at WalMart. Buying cheap goods. WalMart doesn't carry LN, because LN isn't interested in that market. If they ever become interested in it, I'll bet big the quality will drop sharply. You can call it greed on Stanley's part; or you can call it their business model.

When I first saw the SawStop I thought "Great idea". I still do. I just temper the thought with the fact that I would pay for the device, and if I hit it, a new blade and cartridge. Then I thought, "Hmmm, if I just use one of these scrap pieces that I tell myself to throw away all the time, I can't possibly touch the blade with my flesh" Call me cheap. I will use the scrap. Call me stupid, if I skip the scrap and cut off a finger, I won't sue someone for my own irresponsibility.

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: Step-By-Step Guitar Making by Alex Willis
There's a project I keep trying to find time for, I have two sons who are musicians. If I make a guitar then I don't have to keep complaining that they take mine!
