Re: SketchUp 8 Pro: A Look at Some of the Solid Tools

Thanks Dave, by taking the sphere shell apart, deleting the one internal face, and putting the sphere back together works. Also tried with two circles perpendicular but not touching eachother, follow-me, and the surface of the follow me object appears to be a must delete otherwise also unable to use the solid tools. Must be those "stray" lines or objects. This also solves the problem I was having trying to make solid objects with bezier curves. Thanks

Re: SketchUp 8 Pro: A Look at Some of the Solid Tools

Anyone else having a problem trying to use new solid tools with a full sphere. Tried to create a sphere by drawing a circle, doing a rotate copy, and using follow me tool, which is also not changing to the follow me icon. Half sphere and pommel example of Dave's worked fine but when I try to intersect a sphere and box it comes back with the error message that one or more objects not a solid. No oddball lines either.

Re: New SketchUp Version 8

Downloaded the pro upgrade yesterday and we are going to love the solid object tools. Did a mortise and tenon intersection with trim - one step worth the price of the upgrade.

Re: A Decorative Carved Fan in SketchUp

Dave: Un-installed, downloaded and re-installed, also re-installed extensions.rb and It is sort of working now. Your fan tutorial works but when I try it with other curves it has a habit of crashing. Also when simple loft asks for how many lines it only seems to work with the default of 5. I've also emailed Chris Fulmer who wrote the ruby script.

Re: A Decorative Carved Fan in SketchUp

Dave, I must be missing something or have the Loft plugin installed incorrectly but unable to get the faces on the fan. Weld applied - no faces and no to close curve. Selection/Rotate duplicate curve no problem. But then when I try to loft the faces - nothing happens. Your insight is appreciated in advance. MacOsX 10.5/Sketchup 7.1 pro

Re: The Importance of the Mouse and Scroll Wheel

Have used Sketchup 7 MacOsX for quite sometime along with Logitech Trackman mouse and Logitech driver. Never got the click wheel to orbit etc with Sketchup. After recommendation to uninstall the Logitech driver now works perfectly. I can instantly see the uptick in productivity. Thanks Tim

Re: Using the Shape Bender Plugin

Dave great presentation of "ShapeBender". Tried install it on SUPro7 Mac. No luck getting it to run. Your guidance is appreciated.
