This countertop is for an 8 foot long cabinet in my home office. This project took 14 months to complete. I used mostly 1/4" square dowels of Poplar and Oak, with 1/4" Scant in both Oak and Poplar...

Awesome job. This would go well with the countertop in my office. How do you plan to protect the top, glass, other? Was the pattern your own design? I assume it disassembles easily for moving. How big is the top? Let's get some more pictures when you're finished.
