Re: Reader Says Mythbusters Missed on Hammer Strikes
posted: 10:24 am on August 12thI am a shop teacher of 31 years. Fracturing hammers is no myth. I knew better; but used two hammers in conjunction with each other to straighten a bent truck rim that came in contact with a curve. They worked fine to fix the rim but I have a chunk of metal buried in my left thigh to prove hammer heads due in deed fracture when they impact each other. I was fortunate it did not strike an artery or my eyes. Needless to say,I will never try this again.
