Re: Dining table with inlay
I have been searching for a table design for a month now. I wanted simple, but elegant. I had settled on a design similar to this, though I now like the cut of your table more.
posted: 12:43 pm on April 13thI find four things about this table that set it apart.
1.) Obviously the inlays.
2.) I really like the tape of the legs, not too much, nor too little.
3.) the 'end cap' peice at both ends of the table (not sure what this is called.
4.) the wood and stain used resulted in a great colour.
A couple questions if you don't mind:
1.) I have never done an inlay before. I assume you stain the walnut first, and then put the inlya in place before appling the laquer finish?
2.) What stain did you use on the walnut?
3.) Any chance you have your plans kicking around? :)
Any pointers appreciated.
