Re: Q&A with Woodworking Experts

Is it safe to rip on a table saw with the blade tilted towards the rip fence?

I need to make a tapered miter cut on the top and bottom face of a board. This requires moving the rip fence from one side of the blade to the other side. I am accustomed to making miter cuts with the blade tilted away from the rip fence but not towards the rip fence. Is it safe to do it this way?

Re: Poll: Any Machinery on your Holiday Wish List?

Dear Santa I would really like to replace my 30 year old Craftstman table saw with a cabinet saw. A better rip fence and dust collection would really make me happy.

Re: Poll: What hand tools are on your holiday wish list?

I've always wanted a high quality plane so see if it works better than my standard Stanley bench plane and block plabe. I would also like a Japanese combination saw. I find I enjoy making acurate and fast cuts with a Japanese crosscut saw.
