Re: Blade brake inventor aims to compete with SawStop

I did not read all the comments but it seems that the drawback of this system, is that you must touch the guard to activate the compacitance touch sensor. So if you kept your hand low enough and don't touch the guard, you can still lose a finger.

Re: Tablesaw Safety Goes Under the Microscope--Again

tenleft writes: "In a land of 300 million people with a very high penetration of table, chop and hand held saws there are 10 amputations a day."

Your implication is misleading. It is 10 amputations of how many people were using a table saw on that day. Considerably less than 300 million.

Re: Winner Chosen for Tablesaw Safety Tip Challenge

My tip would be to never work when you are tired or when you become tired. I find that when I am tired, I get lazy, begin to take shortcuts, and make mistakes. A sharp, fresh mind and an alert attitude is your best safety feature.

I am always willing to try something new!
