Thanks for the interest hhmcadonald. There are four arms that reach out roughly over the tips of the legs. The arms are joined to the legs with a simple mortise and tenon joint. The arms are then connected to the four corner of the table top with 1/4 walnut dowels. you can see the arms best in photos # 4 and 5. If you checkout my website you can see how the arms interact with the legs and the table in some of the sketches.
