Re: Tommy MacDonald and WGBH pursue a new woodworking show

I'm for change an all that, so send the next guy in.

As for Norm and all the old shows, why not put his shows into syndication? Jeez, like we haven't seen every Bob Newhart Show 19 times? If WGBH Boston doesn't seize the day by marketing a collection of all of his shows from day one on, they're wicked-stupid.

Cable has the most mindless, stupid programming on. All the house flipping, redecorating by blind people, and foo-foo rehashed DIY stuff, it makes me want to puke my bloody guts out. Even the gay guys I know say they are lame. So, like I have confirmed sources, eh?

Good luck to the kid.

Re: Dovetailed drawers are overrated

Some time ago I worked in a small town hospital. The facility was built 40 years earlier by local tradespeople, many of which I had the pleasure to meet over the time I worked there. At one point I helped our maintenance guys demo a couple of wooden door frames in preparation for a remodeling project. Much to my surprise, the frames were assembled with dovetail joints and no nails, save for the trim. As an amateur woodworker, I was impressed and felt quite guilty tearing out someone else's craftsmanship.

Re: Biscuit shaped connector for RTA furniture

I'd use them in office furniture like for lawyers, physicians and salons. The obvious application of these fasteners would be for aligning Part A with Part B, but would not be for what I would call load bearing surfaces.

If the finished product is to be installed by end user, i.e. non-skilled workers, an allen wrench and at least one functioning eye, should be all one needs to put a system together.

I like the concept.

Re: Benchtop Tablesaws: We Want Your Feedback

Oh man. My first benchtop saw was a Black and Decker 8" or something. I had it for 25 years and finally the motor died. I gave it last rites and a burial at dumpster about a month ago. Sniff.
