Re: Free Plan: Wood Storage-Miter Saw Station

Looks good, but for some reason I can only download 2 pages of the plan. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: How to Choose and Use Bench Planes and Scrapers by John English

Can this book tempt me away from Lie-Nielsen??? It's worth a try!!!

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: 500 Tables (Updated with winner)

Maybe one day I'll be editor of Fine Woodworking magazine??? Then things will change!!!

Re: Poll: The Most Popular Way to Cut A Tenon

I have to say that I found the tenon shoot out article in the magazine,with its focus on speed, a little bit pointless. Surely the best tenon cutting technique is the most appropriate for the job and you. This will depend on a number of factors, sometimes hand cut and sometimes machine cut, including:-
- Number of tenons to cut;
- Size of tenons;
- The type of tenon;
- Strength of joint required;
- Material to be used;
- The tools and equipment you have access too;
- The time you have to complete the job;
- and last, but by no means least,the amount of satisfaction you require from have cut a well fitting joint by hand.
As a child I was read the story of the hare and the tortoise and learnt that being the fastest does not
necessarily mean you're an automatic winner!!!

Re: UPDATED: Giveaway and Poll: The Most Requested Woodworking Gifts of 2009

Can never get enough timber! I'm alway on the look out for unusual grain or colour patterns. Only problem is, I need to build a new timber store to accommodate!
For tools, I tend to put ticks in my favourite tool catalogue and give it to my wife to organise everyones gifts for me for christmas and birthdays. Works really well!!!
