I love creating functional and beautiful objects and wood working is my latest interest. I make custom, ergonomic walking canes from domestic and exotic fancy woods. My canes are made for comfort, stability and style. The cane user should not have to use an unsightly metal or ugly cane, as they should be proud to show off a work of art and enjoy the natural hardwoods I use in my pieces.

Re: Spalt Your Own Lumber: Nutrient Supplements for Spalted Wood (e.g. beer)
I've had maple and pecan tree trunks spalt by just being in contact with the soil and moisture. If the log is sitting cut side down on the ground it will absorb rainwater and microbes from the soil without any help. When you see the lichen start to bloom, you're in the spalt!

Wow! I love it! Whimsical, practical, beautifully executed. The combination of woods are wonderful and compliment each other well. Your design is quite unique and extraordinary. Keep up the good work. I'd love to see more.

What an extraordinary piece of work! It is simple yet complex in construction and the woods are absolutely beautiful. It's a maze and a puzzle all put into a box for storage. Beautiful and practical.
