I am a lineman working for the local Utility. I have two kids and a wife who I love dearly. I am the woodworking equivalent of the saying "Big Hat, No Cattle". By that I mean I can talk intelligently for hours about woodworking all the while quoting great names in the trade. But when you ask me what work I have done, I don't have much to say. My goal these days is to change this trend and produce a body of work to be proud of. I am a true believer that time spent in the shop is just as important as what comes out of the shop.
I am very thankful to Fine Woodworking. Most of what I know today about our wonderful hobby is because of the people writing the magazine, and producing all the content online.

Thank You

Plant Stand for Mothers Day

This was a Mothers Day gift to my Mom.  She needed a plant stand 40 inches tall.  She was very adamant about this measurement even when I tried to talk her into a shorter version.

Re: The Right Tool for the Job

This article by Gary Rogowski was right to the point and is an example of why he is one of my favorite contributers. It is just what I would expect to hear from a professional woodworker. Here is a sentence from another of his articles "Time spent in the shop is as important as what comes out of the shop." So get a chisel, get in the shop and learn how to sharpen it.
