I'm sorry, but this award was just wrong! The plaintif knew or should have known that the saw he was using didn't have the technology built into it to protect him if he was dumb enough to put his hand where it shouldn't have been. Juries don't seem to care when it is someone else's money that they feel perfectly entitled give away. I can't believe the stupidity of this kind of thinking. Safety devices are great, but not everyone can afford the technology that is required to for that level of safety. Naturally, the maker of the safety device thinks that every saw should have it, it will make him richer.
