Re: Make Your Own Dowels
I realize that you did not want to use store bought dowels. But why? Because you did not want to store them? How much space can that take? And because they might warp? I store all mine with other dowels secured by rubber bands. I've never had any of them warp so much they were unusable. And instead of sizing a dowel to fit your drill bit it is much easier to measure the dowel diameter with a caliper then select the appropriate drill bit to fit the dowel diameter. DUH?

One thing I would like to see is for power tool manufacturers to put longer lenght power cables on their tools that reflect real world use. Why put an 8 foot cable on a circular saw when to have any practical use at all requires a twelve foot cord? Then when you build a bench there should be lots of outlets. And they should also be all metal quad boxes and face plates connected by armored cable. Sweet!

Is this a shop or a restaurant that was made to look like a shop? I'm thinking that not a lot of work goes on here. Certainly no work going on while the photography was being done. I personally like a lived-in look. But still a dream shop for sure.

I guess I should have read the Tag line more carefully. I really thought someone could do it. Heck a couple of sawhorses and a piece of plywood. Seats 8. All that is needed is a tablecloth. I would feel like I'm back at church for a dinner on the grounds. Functional. What more could you want?
