If you want to see some incredible homemade woodworking tools, you REALLY need to look at www.woodgears.ca. Matthias Wandel has plans for his version of a horizontal slot mortiser, which by the way, I just completed. His plans are in metric measurements, but I quickly got use to using centimeters. I spent about a month on this project but I am very pleased with the machine. Fine Woodworking should be contacting him for future articles!
