Hickory King-size Bed
This bed was built for my son and daughter-in-law. Hickory is the primary wood with black walnut accents. The corner posts are 4" square. The headboard and footboard have raised panels.

Re: How to Glue-Up Joints: Tips on gluing
Interesting; many different opinions on this. Last week I watched the video series on making a hayrake table. The builder only puts glue on one side, uses a bent index finger to spread the glue. If I remember correctly, he feels if several boards are glued, this amount of glue gives longer working time.

Earlier in an article on glue strength, 80% strength in 30 minutes was quoted.
Too much information can cause confusion.
Re: Having Trouble Finishing? Here's a Great Product
I agree 100%. I have used it for 10 years or so. The only I thing I due differently is that I use pieces of nylon stockings. When a pair is no longer usable, my wife gives it to me and I cut it into small pieces. The advantage is that it has no lint or other loose particles.

At my church, the men make faith chests that are given to all children at baptism. I have this varnish used because the rookies of varnishing can do a great job coating the wood. We only do three coats except for the red oak lid that has four.
