Re: Porter Cable Recalls 100,000 Production Routers in U.S.

I would have thought it was for all the power cord rubber that they use that dry rots and cracks within a year or two. All my PC power tools have more electrical tape on the cords than original rubber.
I don't think I've had that problem with any of the other power tool brands I own but PC. I would think cracked and falling apart cord insulation is more of a shock hazard than the issue for the recall.
that's one reason why I haven't bought PC brand tools for a long time.

Re: Shop Talk Live 17: Behind-the-Scenes at Lee Valley Tools

So apparently all is now forgiven of FWW by Lee Valley? I know they would not advertise with FWW for many years. apparently because of what they (LV) saw as intellectual property theft or infringement, and FWW's refusal to issue an apology.

Re: UPDATE: Routers & Router Tables from the editors of Fine Woodworking

I'd like to win this book.

Re: UPDATE: Making a Welsh Stick Chair with Hugh Roberts

This is the next style of chair I want to build. I've made 3 windsors at Mike Dunbar's school, and if I can work it in I'd like to go to Don Weber's school - if not, this ought to be a good substitute.

Re: Rough Cut PBS Station Locator

not being aired on WQED 13 in Pittsburgh. They were not even aware of it, and stated they have no current plans to do so. But they still asked for money so that MAYBE it will someday be aired - sorry, its already funded by taxpayer dollars, and Woodcraft paid for three seasons to be filmed, so nothing from me.
they do play American Woodshop (which I cannot stand) and occasionally Roy Underhill.

PBS needs to get with the times and offer it on some sort of streaming webcast too.
