The little Jewelry box is about 5 1/2 inches tall. Made of Walnut and cheap Pine. Note particularly the pic of the panel on top. It is the last few inches of one of those boards from the $1.59 too...

I made things years ago requiring bending and just boiled the wood. It worked fine. Why is steam bending better?

Beautiful cabinet. Personally, I have been having much more fun searching through the bargain lumber at Home Depot looking for interesting little bits of grain and color for small projects than I used to using "exotic" wood and feeling guilty about it.

That beautiful darker color is what this will oxidise to over time. I just started using both Mulberry and Hedge (Osage Orange)this year and they both have that beautiful copper color on the wurface exposed to the air for a while. Both the yellow and the copper color are darker in the Hedge. Wish I'd started with them years ago. Both beautiful woods.
