Re: Chris Becksvoort and David Yepez: Mano a Mano

Ah, you all missed it!
That was just great!!! From the standpoint of sheer (shear?) entertainment, that was just great!!! Thank you all for a fantastic few minutes!

Re: Deadline extended for tablesaw safety comments to the CPSC

I and several of my friends have had car accidents (among other types in my 69 years, that's for sure!). Rather than have my govt. piddling around with what really seems an isolated incident (think how long the table saw has been in use, how many other horrible accidents by experienced woodworkers has happened!..for that matter other accidents in the shop.). So why doesn't the govt. cause to have made a vehicle incapable of having accidents? The car is a much more dangerous machine, a perfectly safe car would save lives instead of fingers!!!!

Re: Easy Tip for Tighter Mortise-and-Tenon Joints

Mmm, is it just me? Why would I be bothered by an entry 'slipped' in to our considerations here.
Nayed posted what is really an advertisement.....I went there, was like a carnival barker plying me with his wares.
I for one wish you werent here, Nayed.

Re: Patricks workshop

Yup, thanks for sharing, Patrick. I have the feeling that most of us have a shop that looks like yours. Mine is much more crowded to where I have to constantly do what I call the '
Dance of Shop' to get anywhere, do anything.

I love this magazine, it has taught me so much given me so many hours of pleasure, I never tire of going over and over the issues, I even read all the advertisements!!!, but have had to get over the issue of what my shop looks like, what I work in compared to what I see most often FW.

Thanks, Patrick.

Re: Who needs a saw? Just blow up the next tree you need to fell

I've lived in Texas for over 30 years, none of this video surprises me at all (hey, looks like fun! :)

The saying here is; famous last words for a Texan; "here, hold this beer, watch this!"

Re: Dovetailed drawers are overrated

Dove tails? I love 'em! When well done, I simply have to touch them.

Drawer slides are great for the modernistic look, they can be incredibly strong, carry a lot of weight. I try to shy away from that work...

I feel satisfied when I see a well done dovetail....says it all for me.

Seems I recall Fine Woodworking doing comparison tests of the different joints in wood....dovetails ranked up there at the no. 1 or 2 spot, as I recall.

Do what turns your fancy, or the clinet's, just do it well...
