I know that Lockwood dyes are supposed to be really good.

Hey Guys, I've been out of pocket for a while.
I used one coat of Lockwood's Antique Cherry water-based dye, mixed 1 oz/quart. Then I sprayed 3 coats of General Finishes Polyacrylic in Satin finish. I learned that from the professional furniture maker from whom I bought the figured cherry.

Wow, you did a great job on this project. You made less expensive wood look really good. I am looking for a cheaper way to do built-ins for my office and I think I found the stain and finish technique I want to use for it.
