Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: Esherick, Maloof, Nakashima: Homes of the Master Wood Artisans by Tina Skinner

These type of books are invaluable for finding inspiration for projects. I am constantly looking to my arts and crafts books for inspiration when I am stuck. I think designing an original piece is the hardest part of woodworking and nothing helps more than studying the forms of masters. Thanks for the chance to win a copy....HK

Re: Have you seen Tommy Mac's new woodworking show? Let us know what you think.

I'm sorry but I think the show was a joke. It was God awful. How can any self respecting woodworker say that they enjoyed that piece of crap. If that show gets picked up for another season I'll never watch PBS again...

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: Traditional Finishing Techniques from the New Best of Fine Woodworking

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: 500 Tables (Updated with winner)

"I had a strange sensation, a tingling that arose in my feet and traveled up to my head, and I felt as though I were suddenly released from my body and as pure spirit, partook of a loveliness I had never conceived. I had a sense that a knowledge more than human possessed me, so that everything that had been confused was clear and everything that had perplexed me was explained."

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: Make Your Own Walking Sticks by Charles Self

I want to try my hand at this because my younger brother just recently lost his leg in a terrible accident. He is only 29 years old so I thought I could make him a walking stick that is in a style of his generation, something that he's into as a theme for the stick instead of the ordinary canes that they sell in stores. Thanks for all the chances to win so many great books.

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: The Encyclopedia of Wood

this book will come in handy for certain wood identification especially the different types of wood some people are substituting for mahogany. I recently ordered some "Genuine" mahogany online and what I got was something I can not even identify. Its really tough stuff that has interlocking grain and some of the boards are very light in weight while others are considerably heavier. Every woodworker should own a book like this. Thanks for the chance to win it...

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: Turning Boxes with Threaded Lids by Bill Bowers

I was recently approached by a good friend that wants me to make a reproduction of an antique needlework frame but I do not know how to cut the threads on the parts that require them. I guess this book will help get me started in learning how cutting threads is done. Thank You for the opportunity to win the book.
