Re: Is the Radial Arm Saw on its Last Legs?
I have a 35 year old Craftsman RAS. I wouldn't part with it. They don't build tools this solid any more; it's as accurate and smooth as the day I bought it. Moreover, it is one of the most versatile tools in my shop. Sure, I also have a compount miter saw (for work away from the shop) and a table saw. But frequently I'll turn to the RAS when nothing else will work quite as well. Moreover, as an "I am in a hurry cut off saw", it can't be beat.
