Re: Shop Made Hand tools
I do not make my own irons, although I have toyed with the idea. For the (non scraping) tools in this video I used HSS tools bits that are intended for metal working. They are available and inexpensive. I get mine from use-enco.com

Thanks for all the great comments. It was quite an honor to get featured in the newsletter.
posted: 1:44 pm on April 14thI want to try to answer some of the questions:
- I will have a follow-up video shortly, covering the dust collector modifications.
- I am also planning to do a video follow-up on the outfeed table, since there is so much interest. The sketchup model is available in the Sketchup 3D warehouse:

- I used iMovie '09 (Mac) to do all the editing. I exported the Sketchup animation to a movie, and edited it in iMovie
- I have some removable wings that I attached to the miter saw when I need to do a lot of accurate chopping. If I had more wall space I would prefer to have it integrated in a long auxiliary workbench.
- The shop is approximately 20' x 20'
Re: Bird's Eye Maple Cabinets with Walnut Joinery Accents
I... we considered changing to black appliances, but, as most projects do, we ran short on funds at the end of the remodel. Saved big buck on the kitchen, however, doing the cabinets myself. Total my cost was about $2,700 (not including the granite, which the contractor did.

Sorry that I did not reply to these comments sooner. I had, frankly, forgotten that I had posted them here. I happened across them whilst renewing my FineWoodworking.com subscription.

roxy1234: I have not had any noticable issues with the legs binding up, but then again, I have not needed to dis-assemble it since I first set it up. I doo have a center post to support the 3/4" platform.
