Operation is simple - just repeatedly push forward until you burnish the tops of your arms.

The work is exceptional but a slide show? I was expecting more. Frankly, much more. I wanted to see the layout and cutting. I wanted to know more about the strength of the piece and the sanding the interior and finishing. How is the center leg joined? What happens if someone places a stack of books on the edge? For me this slide show was a lot like the defunct Taunton "Home Furniture" magazine (will you ever learn?). All show and no go for info or details. I don't want a picture book here. I want to know how it was done!

Would that every dad be willing and able to provide such a gift to their offspring. Long after the kids (and their kids) have moved the several times in their lifetime, that box will be a prized possession and I'm betting a workaday tool will never visit. I appreciate not only the work, but the thought--the brass plate is a nice touch too. That box would be in an honored place within five minutes of arriving home.

Does the rotation of the cover cause problems? The box is exceptional in workmanship, but it takes up lots of space around it by prohibiting, for example, dressing table jars and containers in front of the case as well as anything within 18" above.
