Curly Cherry and Maple Coffee Table
This is a coffee table I made for a friend from a curly cherry tree that he cut down on his property. The apron and magazine rack are curly maple with zebrawood for the grid.

Re: saved a tree from firewood
I had a friend that cut down a norway maple for firewood, it was about 3o" wide a AAAA curly all the way through from top to bottom, it was about 20' long with half-basketball sized burls all over it. When I found out about it I dug through his firewood pile cutting out the burls. Now when he cuts a tree down he cuts a little off the top and bottom and splits it to check for figure. Hasn't saved a log yet, but he's not going to miss one either.
