Walnut and birdseye maple coffee table

This is the first of two sister coffee tables I made for two brothers.  This one from a gigantic walnut log an arborist friend of mine took down and the other is from a curly cherry...

Curly Cherry and Maple Coffee Table

This is a coffee table I made for a friend from a curly cherry tree that he cut down on his property.  The apron and magazine rack are curly maple with zebrawood for the grid.

Re: saved a tree from firewood

I had a friend that cut down a norway maple for firewood, it was about 3o" wide a AAAA curly all the way through from top to bottom, it was about 20' long with half-basketball sized burls all over it. When I found out about it I dug through his firewood pile cutting out the burls. Now when he cuts a tree down he cuts a little off the top and bottom and splits it to check for figure. Hasn't saved a log yet, but he's not going to miss one either.

Re: Split Top Roubo Workbench

Love the vise cranks...and the bench too.

Re: Bloodwood, Maple and Cherry Coffee Table

Like the design, how about a picture of the top.
