I spent a lot of time, before I moved back to Iowa, hanging out at the Renwick Gallery. They always have wonderful exhibits, including a look at Greene and Greene early last year. I went 6 times. Part of my love of and desite to get into woodworking, stem from the times I spent admiring museum pieces. I get a feeling, indescribable, that draws me to the piece and makes me stare in awe.

posted: 10:15 am on January 16thI am pleased you got the TOC reference. I like to put obscure references in my posts most days. I had a wonderful chess reference, that I don't think anyone got, in my piece, Horrible Dovetail Blunders ( I made a blunder worse than 1. e4 e5 2.Nf3 d6 3. Bc4 Bg4 4.Nc3 a6 5. Nxe5 and black taking the queen on the 5th move. ) It made me laugh, which is half the reason I like to write, the other half is the joy I get when someone understands my drivel.
Thanks for understanding,

posted: 1:36 pm on November 25thSo I just read all the comments on dovetails.
I took away one thing from the discussion.
Mastering the hand cut dovetail takes lots of practice and some special tools.
This got me fired up! I love new things. I can't wait to go to the Woodsmith store and figure out what I need. I may even try to find the Rob Cosman video.
I don't really have an opinion about the aritcle. I just wanted to say I appreciate everyone's comments, as each of you offered great perspective. It is the passion everyone has for this subject really makes me want to get in on the fun too.
Oh and to Rob Brown. I went you your website...Your stuff is beautiful.
