I’m Cy Rebarchak, born and raised in N.E. Pa. I’ve been woodworking for 40+ years. My Dad got me interested in it when I was 8 or 9 years old and I’ve been making sawdust ever since. I also have 18 yrs. experience as a toolmaker and conventional machinist. In 1997 I was diagnosed with MS and by 2000 it took me off my feet and out of the workforce. I had to make some “adjustments” on how I work in the shop, but the end results are the same, it just takes longer. In the future I hope to share some of my woodworking knowledge and some interesting projects so you get the "wood-itise" also.

That was funny. I don't think much work would get done hanging around with a guy with a sense of humor like Nick. Great!

As simple as it may sound, when cutting on a table saw, NEVER take your eyes off a spinning blade. It seems to be built into human nature not to make contact with a spinning blade. Yes you may accidentally damage your finished cut piece with a nick or scratch, but DON'T take your eyes off the spinning blade until your hands are at a safe distance away.

Very nice job! For being your first woodworking project, your joints look nice and tight, square and crisp. Good work!

Stephany, excellent post! All of your points are dead on. New woodworkers won't know it until later on.
