This is absolutely gorgeous, one of the best examples of "modernizing" a form, keeping the origianl beauty from the original proportions, but truly making a new piece of furniture. The inlay is very well done and particularly not overdone.

I find the need for more quality hand tools the better I get at Woodowkring. A Jointer Plane and Shoulder Planes would be on my list, and of course more time to use them!!

I think sometimes we take the whole issue of copying way too serious. As you can see Maloof was inspored by some thigns other people had done, but he took it to a whole different level. I have built a Maloof inspored rocking chair. It is not a copy, but I was certainly inspired by his work.
