Thank you Donmabr1. I have the wood cut for me when I find just the right kind. Spalted Maple has to be cut at just the right time (before it gets too punky)and I lucked out with this beautiful piece. I use a commercial finish that I buy through Woodcraft. It is a 2 part finish by General Finishes; 1 coat of Seal-A-Cell and 2 coats of Arm-R-Seal Satin finish.
