First trained as photographer at Rochester Institute of Technology and London College of Printing (England).
Photographer and college level photo teacher for 20 years and university level for 5. Quit that scene for health reasons and re-trained as cabinet maker at Montreals École du Meuble.
I design, draw plans and build custom cabinets, usually of solid wood but also using veneered panels. I enjoy producing fine finishes that bring out the qualities of the wood such as french polish and rubbed varnishes. I also enjoy using wood with character which might be considered imperfect by some. My influences are both French and Japanese but I often just let the situation dictate the looks of the piece.

Re: Component Insertion
Thank you David for this useful and highly time-saving technique. As a recent user of SketchUp, I have been struggling with many component placement issues as one of the first projects I had to tackle was a complete staircase.

This is really cute and fun, but half the tails are cut the wrong way around, a melon and a piece of cheese jointed this way would not make it to my cocktail, no maam!

Re: Free Plan: Shaker Wall Clock
This looks like a very interesting plan, unfortunately, the PDF file does not download properly. Is this a local problem or do other readers have the same problem.
